When you work on something too long, soon or later you will find yourself getting stuck, or progressing at a snail pace. I've learned over the years that this is when you need to step back and take a break from your project. And the best fix for getting unstuck is by learning something. The unfamiliar will make your creative mojo flowing in no time!
I was in a bit of rut lately after staring at the computer screen for too long. So I decided to try foam block printing. I've had the materials with me forever but never actually tried it.
The template came from none other than Jen Hewett for the Taproot magazine.
The instruction was easy to follow and the result, fabulous!
I had cut the fabric to a specific size to make into a bag (of course!). I love how it turned out!
I also hand stitched the handles instead of machine sewing it to give the bag a more artisan look. Go to my Tutorial page to learn how to make this bag.
So, take a break from your current project and try something new! It's very gratifying!
